Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about CLT Startup House.

Pricing & Commitment

What if you don't launch?

If I determine there isn't enough interest or decide not to proceed for any reason, I'll notify everyone who expressed interest. There's no financial commitment at this stage. You're just telling me you're interested.

Is $1,250/month worth it compared to working from home?

That depends on what you value. If you just need a desk and WiFi, work from home. If you want to be surrounded by other founders, have spontaneous collisions that spark ideas, and be part of a community that makes you ship faster. That's what you're paying for. The space is secondary to the people in it.

What's included in the price?

Dedicated workspace, high-speed WiFi, access to all community events, coffee/snacks, meeting space for calls, and the intangible: a curated community of 3-4 other startups at similar stages. No hidden fees.

What's the minimum commitment?

For residents, we're looking at month-to-month after an initial 3-month commitment. This isn't a long-term lease trap. If it's not working for you, we'll figure it out. For Wednesday Sessions, it's month-to-month from day one.

The Space

Where is the house located?

We're finalizing the location now. It will be in a walkable, transit-accessible Charlotte neighborhood. Think NoDa or Plaza Midwood vibes. Historic house with character, not a glass box. I'll announce the exact address once the lease is signed.

What are the hours?

Residents have 24/7 access. It's your workspace. Wednesday Session members have access during session hours (9am-5pm).

Is there parking?

Yes. Details will depend on the final location, but parking (or easy transit access) is a requirement for any space I choose.

What about WiFi and amenities?

High-speed WiFi is non-negotiable. We'll also have a stocked kitchen (coffee, snacks), whiteboards, comfortable seating areas, and a setup designed for both heads-down work and collaboration.

Can I take calls and meetings there?

Absolutely. We'll have designated quiet spaces for calls and video meetings so you're not disrupting (or being disrupted by) others.

The Community

How are residents selected?

I'm curating for stage (pre-seed to seed), culture fit, and growth potential. I'm looking for founders who are actively building, want to be part of a community, and will contribute to the energy of the house. It's not first-come-first-served. It's right-fit-first.

What stage should my startup be?

Ideally pre-seed to seed stage. You should be actively working on something, even if it's early. This isn't for people exploring ideas. It's for people building them.

What if I don't vibe with the other residents?

That's why I'm curating carefully. I want everyone to genuinely enjoy being in the space together. If it's not working, we'll figure it out.

Can I bring my co-founder?

Yes. Co-founders from the same startup are welcome. Pricing is per startup, not per person (within reason. We're talking 1-3 people per company, not 10).

What's the culture like?

Collaborative but not forced. I'm not running structured programs or mandatory networking events. It's more like: work near other ambitious people, have lunch together sometimes, jam on problems when it makes sense, play games on Friday nights if you want. Low pressure, high energy.

How It's Different

What makes this different from WeWork or other coworking spaces?

Scale and intent. WeWork is hundreds of people in a sanitized office building. This is 3-4 startups in a historic house. You'll know everyone. Everyone's invested in each other's success. It's designed for collision, not isolation.

Why a house instead of an office?

Houses have character. They have kitchens where conversations happen. They have living rooms where ideas get debated. They feel like somewhere you want to be, not somewhere you have to be. The best startup houses in SF and NYC aren't offices. They're homes that happen to be workspaces.

Is this an incubator or accelerator?

No. I'm not running a program. I'm not taking equity. I'm not providing structured curriculum. This is just a space for founders to work alongside other founders. What happens after that is up to you.

Getting Started

What happens after I express interest?

You'll join our updates list. As I finalize the location and timeline, you'll be first to know. When I'm ready to select residents, I'll reach out to schedule a conversation.

When are you launching?

I'm in the validation phase now. Target launch depends on securing the right location and having enough committed interest. Realistically: I'm moving as fast as I can while doing it right.

Can I visit or tour the space first?

Once I have a location locked, absolutely. I'll host open houses for interested founders. For now, expressing interest helps me validate demand for the concept.

How do I get in touch?

Email drew@stealthx.co directly. I read and respond to everything.

Still have questions?

I'm happy to chat. Reach out directly or express your interest to get on the inside track.
